Both organizations have been formed by the same people for the same purposes. None of which are any more democratic in structure than MAAK was, on the contrary - it is very obviously just a replacement of deciders. At least MAAK gave itself a semblance of a democratic founding, these two didn't do even that much. Go ahead and ask for a complete publication of the studbook data including all their background proof currently held in Ryasan to the general public (including the French AT association) and behold the answer you'll get... it's nothing but a little Russia-only palace revolution without the slightest interest in the rest of the world.

And given the current worldwide financial recession, already bordering on a serious depression, just how much do you think the world needs a third racing breed?

You make a confusion : there is 2 associations created recently. The international Akhal Teke Jokey club wants to promote Akhal Teke racing in the world. The
foundations members are the main russian breeders (A Klimuk, Leonid Babaev, etc...). You can see the website I mentionned in the article. All is clearly explained.

The World Akhal Teke organisation (WATO) has been created in August 2008 and this organisation wants to manage the Akhal Teke studbook in the world like Maak has done until now. But MAAK is
now a very polemic organisation in Russia. That's why the main russian breeders in collaboration with european associations and some american breeders have decided to create WATO ( Maak is now an
    non existing association ???)

What was formed was a replacement organisation of MAAK, the international world AT organisation.

Supposedly all AT breeders have been invited, fact however is that only very few actually got an invitation.
